Snow causes shutdown at Simplot’s Portage potato facility
The build-up of snow and ice on the roof at Simplot's potato processing facility just west of Portage la Prairie, Man. has led to a shutdown.

An independent engineering firm found that the amount of snow and ice was a concern, so the facility will be shut down so steps can be taken to remove some of the snow.
