Potato-derived prebiotic shows insulin resistance benefits in study

A recent study conducted in Canada demonstrated that a potato-derived resistant starch showed positive results in lowering insulin resistance in elderly subjects.

The study data demonstrated that MSPrebiotic meets the criteria of a prebiotic and can stimulate an increased abundance of Bifidobacteria in both elderly and middle-aged adults (30-50) without additional probiotic supplementation. MSPrebiotic consumption also eliminated microbial imbalances of gut Proteobacteria observed in the elderly at baseline.
