Stunted western potato harvest could turn heads to Maine crop

Potatoes grown in Maine are expected to be in strong demand after harvests in the United States’ and Canada’s western regions fell short due to poor fall weather. “Because of a shortage of potatoes in those areas, buyers will have to look elsewhere to keep a supply through the winter,” Andy Yaeger, salesperson for a local grower, said. “I think they are going to be looking to Maine.”
