McCain Foods appoints new president of Canadian division

McCain Foods appoints Danielle Barran to country president of McCain Foods's Canadian division, who assumed full responsibility on August 20, 2018.

Reporting to Jeff DeLapp, President, North America, Ms Barran will lead McCain Foods Canada’s next stage of strategic development.

Ms Barran joins McCain with more than 20 years leadership experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry, including a record of accomplishment for delivering results that focuses on sustainable top and bottom line growth driving market segment share, sales and profitability. She joins McCain Foods Canada from The J.M. Smucker Company, where she was most recently the vice president of commercial strategy (pet division).

An active member of Women Corporate Directors and an ambassador for the Network of Executive Women, Barran holds an MBA and HBA from the Ivey Business School.

McCain Foods is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products. In Canada, the company has eight production facilities, approximately 2,600 employees and in addition to its French fries and potato specialties, makes frozen desserts, snacks and appetizers.
