Capture insecticide now available in Canada

May 27, 2014, Regina – FMC has received registration for bifenthrin, the active ingredient in Capture insecticide, for potato growers.

Wireworms have become one of the major pests in potatoes for numerous growing regions of Canada (see the Potatoes in Canada Summer edition cover story).

“In potatoes, Capture insecticide is to be used as an in-furrow spray application at-planting," according to Mark McMillan, FMC's business manager for Eastern Canada, in a press release. This spray application is meant to create a zone of protection around the mother tuber and developing daughter tubers later in the season.

Capture will be distributed by UAP.
